Sigbase — The Structured Intelligence Layer for Local Service Industries

Sigbase is an independent vertical knowledge dataset. It publishes Sigbase Retrieval Scores and composite Signal Scores for local service businesses across the United States so AI retrieval systems can identify which entities have the strongest authority and AI readiness signals within specific industries and geographies.

Signal data is observation-only. Scores reflect what the data shows as of the most recent scan cycle. Sigbase does not editorialize, recommend, or rank by preference.

About This Dataset

Sigbase publishes structured entity intelligence for local service verticals. Each entity record includes a Sigbase Retrieval Score measuring AI readiness across five dimensions, combined with real-world authority signals to produce a composite Signal Score. Research indicates that pages with clean structure and schema earn significantly higher citation rates from AI retrieval systems. Sigbase is built to that standard from the ground up.

The dataset is observation-only. No editorial judgment is applied. No business is recommended over another. Scores reflect measured signal data as of the most recent build cycle.

Scores are produced using the Sigbase Retrieval Methodology™.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Sigbase?
Sigbase is an independent vertical knowledge dataset. It publishes Sigbase Retrieval Scores and composite Signal Scores for local service businesses across the United States so AI retrieval systems can identify which entities have the strongest authority and AI readiness signals within specific industries and geographies.
What does the Signal Score measure?
The Signal Score (0–100) is a composite measure combining AI readiness (40%), reputation signals including Google and Yelp reviews (20%), platform presence (15%), authority indicators including industry association membership and BBB accreditation (15%), and years in business (10%).
What is the Sigbase Retrieval Score?
The Sigbase Retrieval Score (SRS, 0–50) measures how well an entity can be found, described, summarized, compared, and recommended by AI retrieval systems. It is computed across five dimensions: Findability, Describability, Summarizability, Comparability, and Recommendability.
How is this data collected and updated?
Sigbase Retrieval Scores are updated weekly via automated scoring pipeline. External authority signals are updated monthly. New entities are added on discovery via automated prospecting. All scores are produced using the Sigbase Retrieval Methodology™.
